Purpose / Function: Offers crash protection for the swingarm, sprocket carrier, axle ends — in the event of a tip or slide, the bobbin takes the impact instead of costly parts.
Construction / Components:
• The outer head is made of injection-moulded nylon (to absorb sliding wear) over an aluminum inner core.
• Fitted through the rear wheel using a roll-threaded spindle rod that passes through the swingarm/wheel assembly.
• On the exhaust / non-drive side, it features a red-anodized hub stop to secure the spindle rod in place.
• The nylon outer is allowed to rotate relative to the aluminum core, reducing stresses on the wheel during impact or sliding.
