Purpose / Use: Designed to protect the boxer engine cylinders, valve covers, and sensitive components (e.g., lambda sensors) in the event of a tip over or fall. The crash bar forms a protective “cage” around the engine.
Construction / Materials:
• Made from stainless steel tubing (diameter ~ 25 mm, wall thickness ~ 2 mm)
• Supported by 3 mm thick, 3D-shaped stainless steel plates at critical areas for added strength and better load distribution
Design Features / Benefits:
• Multi-point mounting (4 independent points) to stabilize the bar and spread impact forces without overloading one point
• Compact design to minimise impact on ground clearance and lean angle, yet still leave enough space for servicing/maintenance
• Mounting hardware is included for direct fit to factory mounting points
Fitment / Compatibility:
• Specifically built for BMW R1300GS / R1300GS Adventure models
• It is the “lower / engine” crash bar version; there is also an optional fairing crash bar extension (part 035-5161) designed to complement it
